Pentadyne Power Corporation announced that its advanced flywheel power system, the VSS DC , has won the Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award.

Chatsworth , Calif. - Aug. 11, 2005 - Pentadyne Power Corporation announced that its advanced flywheel power system, the VSS DC , has won the Frost & Sullivan Technology Innovation Award. The Pentadyne UPS Voltage Support Solution is a battery-less DC power source for UPS systems, specifically designed for mission-critical applications in data centers as well as manufacturing and commercial facilities.

The Pentadyne VSS DC is a 120 kW unit that can provide 20 seconds of DC power. This power can be adjusted by paralleling units in increments of 120 kW and 2,400 kWs for n+1 redundancy or for alternate loads.
