The order for more than 3 megawatts of flywheel energy storage systems will be deployed at the company’s Irvine, California, location.</span> </meta>

</strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">The 16-unit order comes from </span></strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">Emerson Network Power</span></strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">, which markets the Pentadyne system as the </span></strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">Liebert FS</span></strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">. The 16 Liebert FS flywheels will be mated with four 750-kVA Liebert NXL uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. </span></strong></div>

</strong><strong><span style="font-weight: normal;">Configured as a 1+N approach, the 3,000 kVA Liebert power certainty package fits within a 2,000 square-foot space, with room for further expansion.</span></strong></div>

<div>Ranging in capacity from 1 to 8 megawatts, Pentadyne PowerBlock™ systems can both provide high-voltage support to overtaxed sections of electric rail systems, eliminating slowdowns, as well as capturing, storing and reusing the regenerative braking energy of rail cars.</div>

<div>PowerBlock systems charge from the third rail or catenary system, absorbing and storing regenerative energy as each train slows into a station. That stored energy can then accelerate that or other trains from the station.</div>

<div>PowerBlock can also keep voltage from sagging at problem areas of track, preventing slowdowns and limits on the number of cars per train.</div>
