<![endif]--> CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Jan. 19, 2010 – Pentadyne Power Corporation (www.pentadyne.com), the world’s leading manufacturer of flywheel energy storage systems, will save a data center facility of a software engineering company two million dollars in energy savings. The order for more than 3 megawatts of flywheel energy storage systems will be deployed at the company’s Irvine, California, location.

Pentadyne flywheels were chosen over lead-acid batteries due to the vast energy savings as well as their high-reliability, near-zero maintenance, and environmentally responsible manufacture.

The 16-unit order comes from Emerson Network Power, which markets the Pentadyne system as the Liebert FS. The 16 Liebert FS flywheels will be mated with four 750-kVA Liebert NXL uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems.

Configured as a 1+N approach, the 3,000 kVA Liebert power certainty package fits within a 2,000 square-foot space, with room for further expansion.

Pentadyne President & CEO Mark McGough added, “Especially in this recession, businesses cannot risk their futures on all-too-common UPS battery failures. Reliability is why they buy UPS systems in the first place, and Pentadyne flywheels have proven in the field that they deliver an order of magnitude greater reliability than that of the best-in-brand UPS lead-acid batteries. And they do so at a much lower own-and-operate cost. The $2M energy savings is icing on the cake for our customers, since we also have the most energy-efficient flywheel on the market.”

About Pentadyne Power Corporation
Pentadyne is the leading manufacturer of flywheel energy storage systems used for electrical energy recycling applications and replaces thousands of toxic lead-acid batteries used with UPS systems. Flywheels made by Pentadyne, an Inc. 500 listed company, deliver 20 times greater reliability than batteries, need near-zero maintenance and have a footprint and lifecycle cost less than half that of batteries. Using 90% less power than other flywheels, this environmentally responsible system provides high power output and electrical energy storage in a compact, self-contained package. An ISO-9001-certified company, Pentadyne designs and manufactures its award-winning products in Greater Los Angeles.

<![endif]--> CHATSWORTH, Calif. – Jan. 12, 2010 - Pentadyne Power Corporation (www.pentadyne.com), the world leader in flywheel clean energy storage systems, announced the launch of a series of high-duty cycle containerized energy storage and voltage support products for the commuter rail industry.

Ranging in capacity from 1 to 8 megawatts, Pentadyne PowerBlock™ systems can both provide high-voltage support to overtaxed sections of electric rail systems, eliminating slowdowns, as well as capturing, storing and reusing the regenerative braking energy of rail cars.

“Our new PowerBlock Series solutions are far less costly and far more efficient than the rail industry’s other limited choices for energy support,” said Pentadyne President & CEO Mark McGough. “What’s more, the core technology at the heart of these products has already been successfully proven on the New York City subway, the London Underground and the Paris and Lyon Metros.”

PowerBlock systems charge from the third rail or catenary system, absorbing and storing regenerative energy as each train slows into a station. That stored energy can then accelerate that or other trains from the station.

PowerBlock can also keep voltage from sagging at problem areas of track, preventing slowdowns and limits on the number of cars per train.

Chandler Williamson, Pentadyne’s Vice-President of Business Development said, “The systems were rigorously tested by agencies in the US, UK and France. They consistently outperformed expectations to improve rail operations and reduce operating costs.”

Williamson noted that the first production unit of PowerBlock will be deployed later this year with the New York Metropolitan Transit Agency.
